It was absolutely DISGUSTING!! By the end of the cruise a fight broke out between inebriated guests on the lower deck. There were spilled drinks on the tables and vomit on the lower deck. A young couple even used one of them to have sex.

The bathrooms had no lights or running water in the sinks. People were literally knocking over chairs and garbage cans and falling down steps. There was no monitoring alcohol intake and MANY people became “falling-down” drunk.

The lower deck was enclosed, making it very hot, unlike the upper deck, which was open. The nightmare started when we first boarded and found it so crowded we could not find empty seats all five in our group stood the entire cruise, which lasted over three hours. I took the fireworks cruise on July 3rd to celebrate a friend’s 60th birthday and was shocked at what I experienced! At one point I was even afraid for my safety! The staff on the boat consisted of an elderly captain, one “first mate” and two bartenders (one male, one female). He should not be giving tour commentary anywhere, for anyone. River City Star needs to get Captain Ken off to the retirement home so he can sleep whenever he wants, and let him bore the other geezers at the raisin ranch. Louis along the Missouri, nothing of the growth of Omaha and Nebraska, and really nothing much about anything other than the three minor landmarks along our very short voyage. We learned nothing of the river’s history, nothing of Lewis and Clark’s journey westward from St. He really added nothing to the cruise, and since there really isn’t much to see along the less than two miles of the Missouri River that the ship takes you to, this cruise was a big waste of time. Our boat driver, “Captain Ken,” sounded like he had just woken from a nap, and was the most un-enthusastic, unexciting, bored-sounding, uninterested, uninformative and tiresome narrator we’ve ever encountered. Our tour was the longest 90 minutes we’ve spent in a long, long time. Plus, there is literally NOTHING to see along the tiny stretch of the Missouri River that Captain Ken and the River City Star will take you to. He is the most boring, un-enthusiastic narrator of any tour we have EVER done.
